What is your cancellation policy?

West Yellowstone is an advance reservation, destination area. Because we are a small, seasonal property, the impact cancellations have on us is much greater in comparison to the impact they have on larger corporate chains. We require a non-refundable deposit, equal to one night's charges plus taxes to be collected at the time of booking. Should you cancel your reservation at any time after the booking, for any reason, this deposit will not be refunded back to you. We also have a 7-day policy for making changes to your original reservation. If you shorten your stay within 7 days of your original check-in date you will be responsible for all of the originally reserved nights. This includes shortening your stay at check-in or after. If you shorten your stay more than 7 days prior to the original arrival date, you will be responsible for a 15% cancellation fee per night.

If I cancel can I get my deposit back?

Because of the reasons above, our policy is non-negotiable and deposits are non-refundable for any reason.

What if I shorten my stay?

Shortening your stay with us within 7 days makes the reservation extremely difficult to re fill again. We are a destination town, booked months in advance. Last minute reservations are not common as vacations to Yellowstone are rarely planned at the last minute. Shortening or making changes to your reservation within 7 days of the original arrival date is not permitted. This includes shortening your stay at check-in or any time during your stay with us. Shortening your original reservation with us more than 7 days prior to arrival will result in a 25% cancellation fee for each night shortened. Please let us know if you need to change your dates.

Can I choose my room location?

No. We experience high occupancy during peak season. We also use a property management system that automatically assigns rooms through a “best fit” room allocation program. Although, we make every effort to accommodate guest requests fulfilling room location requests is very limited.

Do you accept group reservations?

Because we are such a small motel and we keep our staff small, we are unable to accept group reservations of more than 3 rooms. Our staff works very hard to maintain a level of quality that requires extra time and effort. High property turn overs reduce the time we are able to dedicate to these details that help make your stay more memorable.

What if I need to check in/check out when the office is closed?

If you need to check out before we open, you may either leave the keys in your room and shut the door or you may leave them in our key drop box, right outside the office door. If you are planning on arriving late, please let us know and we will arrange for a self check-in. If we don’t hear from you before we are closed for the evening, no worries, we will automatically set you up for our self check-in process as well. No matter what time you arrive after check-in, your room will be waiting for you.

Do you have wifi?

We offer a complementary, very basic WIFI service for our guests. Video streaming /gaming is not possible with this complementary service.

Are there any exceptions to maximum room occupancies?

No exceptions can be made to this policy for two reasons. We want our guests to have the most comfortable stay with us that we are able to provide. Going over the maximum occupancy reduces the comfort of not only you and your party, but the rooms next to you, as well. Secondly, and most importantly, our maximum occupancies are set by firecode and are strictly adhered to. Our maximum occupancy is 2 persons per bed. Children of any age are counted as a person and do not stay for free. Should you arrive with persons over the maximum occupancy we will need to move you to a larger unit if available, or we will be forced to cancel your reservation.

Is there extra room for a crib/cot/rollaway/air mattress?

We do not permit nor do we provide any additional bedding of any kind for persons of any age.

Do you have air conditioning?

In our hottest month, July, the temperature can reach the high 80’s while cooling all the way back down to the 40’s at night. Because of this, we provide seasonal air conditioning with window units during these warmer summer months.

Is there additional parking if I have more than 1 vehicle?

1 parking space is provided per room booked. If you have more than 1 vehicle, are towing a trailer or are driving an oversized vehicle, you will be required to park offsite. There is parking available on the street, in front of the property.

Do you allow pets?

We promise our guests smoke free and pet free rooms. We do not accept pets on our property or inside any room at any time but we would be happy to recommend a pet-friendly property if you’re traveling with your furry friend. Bringing a pet into one of our rooms will result in a $250 penalty per night and your reservation will be canceled. We also do not recommend booking with us and plan on leaving your pet in the vehicle during your stay. Even in the summer, the night temperatures can drop below freezing!

Do you allow smoking in the room/on the property?

We are committed to providing our guests with the most comfortable stay that we can. Because of this, we do not permit smoking in any room. Smoking is permitted outside as long as the door to the room is shut and any windows around are shut. Smoke damage is very costly and time consuming to reverse. It can result in many days of lost revenue for us. Smoking in a room or the occurrence of smoke damage in a room will result in a $250 penalty per night of your reservation. If smoke damage is noticed during your stay with us, your reservation will be canceled immediately and the penalty will apply.

Can I cook inside my room?

To keep our rooms as clean and fresh as possible for the next guest, we do not allow cooking inside our rooms. It is also a fire hazard and we are committed to providing a safe environment for our guests as well. We know how convenient it is to be able to re heat leftovers or to heat a compress to sooth sore muscles from your day of hiking in Yellowstone. Because of this, we provide a community microwave in our ice machine room open 24 hours a day! Bringing your own cooking devices is strictly prohibited and will result in the cancellation of your reservation and a $250 penalty per night of your reservation. We are happy to provide you with a list of our recommendations at check-in so you don’t have to cook!

Are you within walking distance to restaurants and shopping?

Our location is one of the best in West Yellowstone! We are tucked away, on a quiet side street. Just a half block away to the East of us is the Yellowstone National Park boundary line! Half a block away to the West, will put you at Canyon Street, West Yellowstone’s main street. Park your car in front of your room and walk to just about everything.

Cooking is not permitted in any room at any time. Bringing your own cooking devices and using them is strictly prohibited and will result in the cancellation of your reservation and a $250 penalty per night of your reservation.

Groups

Due to the size of our property and our limited staff we are unable to acommodate groups or parties, who desire more than 3 rooms at one time. Please call us if you would like a recommendation for other excellent group options in town.
